Growing up, Kathleen was constantly curious. She spent hours exploring the woods behind her house for dinosaur bones and riding her bike to investigate mysteries. Kathleen still loves exploring the woods and riding her bike; only now, she uses her adventures to create books that encourage children to explore new possibilities in the world around them. She is currently seeking new representation.
Before writing children’s books, Kathleen was Head of International Education at the Universidad Viña del Mar, where she worked with students during their study abroad programs. She loves working with students and is the Site Director for ASA in Chile.
Originally from South Carolina, Kathleen has lived in Chile going on 16 years, where she lives with her husband and three mini adventurers. She is certified bilingual from the Instituto Cervantes (C2) and has received several honorable mentions in children’s literature micro-fiction competitions, including an Honorable Mention in the 2023 PBParty.
When she is not writing, you can find Kathleen making messes with her kids, exploring the outdoors, or experimenting with new recipes. If she could have any superpower, it would be the to speak any language because making new friends around the world is so much fun!
